IP PA system for a power transmission substation with outdoor switchyard and control building?
Industry: power plant | Architecture: IP
Power transmission substations present a unique EMI challenge from high-voltage transformers and switchgear. The BNA 9000-i125-HA IP server in the shielded control building manages all PA zones. BNA IP-H15-POE horn speakers on transformer bay structures and switchyard poles are mounted with sufficient clearance from live equipment and connected via shielded Ethernet cables to minimize EMI interference. BNA 9200 IP field call stations at the switchyard entry gate and the main transformer bay allow visiting maintenance teams to call the control engineer without entering the control building. BNA IP-GSM-G4 enables the transmission system operator at the load dispatch center to broadcast safety alerts to the substation during remote switching operations. Remote triggering over GSM is particularly valuable at unmanned substations.
Technical Details
