Digital PA system for hydroelectric power station with remote dam and generator hall?
Industry: power plant | Architecture: DIGITAL
Hydroelectric power stations present a unique challenge: the dam structure and powerhouse generator hall may be separated by hundreds of meters with no LAN infrastructure. A digital PA system with twisted-pair cable backbone is the ideal solution. The BNA 8000 PA central exchange in the powerhouse connects to BNA 8200 field call stations at the dam crest, spillway gate room, and intake structure via shielded cable. BNA 8100 master station at the powerhouse supervisor desk provides system-wide paging. BNA 7301 outdoor horn speakers at the dam spillway and intake handle high ambient water noise, while BNA 7302 indoor cone speakers serve the generator hall. The BNA 500W amplifier provides sufficient signal drive over the long cable distance without signal degradation.
